About Stephen
Stephen Sayad works in the firm’s civil litigation group. He is a trial attorney with 30+ years’ experience in all aspects of litigation, from discovery to trials to appellate work. Stephen has worked in a wide variety of practice areas both for plaintiffs and defendants, including commercial contracts, environmental law, insurance coverage, copyright and trademark, trade secrets, products liability, securities litigation, real estate litigation, construction litigation, personal injury, land use, and civil rights.
Education and Qualifications:
B.S. in Economics from University of California at Berkeley
J.D., Magna Cum Laude, from University of California, Hastings College of Law
Experience:
- 30+ years of experience in various aspects of litigation, including commercial contracts, environmental law, and civil rights Ran his own successful law firm for 7 years
- Co-authored various legal works published in Environmental Law Institute, Practicing Law Institute, and Federation of Insurance Counsel Quarterly
- Participated in The Asbestos Insurance Coverage Cases, recovering over $1 billion in insurance coverage proceeds for victims of asbestos exposure
Stephen Sayad
Stephen completed his B.S. in Economics from University of California at Berkley before receiving his J.D., Magna Cum Laude, from University of California, Hastings College of Law.
Stephen ran his own successful firm for 7 years prior to joining Wade Law Group and has been published as a co-author on various legal works that can be seen in publications such as Environmental Law Institute, Practicing Law Institute, and Federation of Insurance Counsel Quarterly.
Stephen was part of a team of attorneys who litigated The Asbestos Insurance Coverage Cases in San Francisco Superior Court and, after a 4.5 year trial, recovered over $1 billion in insurance coverage proceeds for his client that then went into a trust to compensate the victims of asbestos exposure.
Stephen, a life-long and avid Newfoundland owner, also led the litigation against the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and successfully kept in place, through an action in federal ourt in San Francisco, the GGNRA’s 1979 Pet Policy, allowing pets to be off-leash (if under voice-control) in approximately one percent of the land managed by the GGNRA in the San Francisco Bay Area and including all the beaches in San Francisco and many beaches in Marin County and San Mateo County.
